The Jobber's Rest | Upminster
Our doors are open and we’re ready for the cosy winter’s months. We can’t wait to welcome you all!
Our team has received training and processes are in place so that we can all be safe, relaxed and happy. Please note that as part of these plans, we are now taking card only payment, and we ask that you wear masks upon arrival and when you are moving around the venue. We recommend that you book ahead to avoid disappointment. To view all the detailed steps we have taken to make your time as safe as possible, please head to our Covid Conscious page.
All guests must vacate the building by 10pm, to facilitate this we now have table turnaround times: parties up to 3 people will have a 1.5 hour table time, parties of 4-6 will have a 2 hour table time. We feel confident this won’t impact on your enjoyment and allows us to take bookings safely and with sensible social distancing.
Maximum booking size – in line with government guidance, we can take bookings for a maximum of 6 guests per table (all must be from the same household if you live in Tier two or three).
Finally, we wanted to let you know that we have extended Eat Out to Help Out until the end of October (28th inclusive). Each person will receive 50% off their food and non-alcoholic drinks bill, up to a max of £10 discount per person Monday – Wednesday, any time of the day. All existing and new members of our database are eligible for the offer, so if you haven’t already signed up to our database, please do so to claim this offer.
Please note that your booking may mean you are seated in either the bar or the brasserie as we are a 100% seated venue. Table service will be provided throughout.

Whatever the occasion there is plenty to choose from on our delicious seasonal a la carte menu. Serving great British classics with Gallic flair our signature dishes include a classic, rich and melt in the mouth Boeuf Bourguignon and the lightest cheese souffle made with Wyke Farm Coastal Cheddar.
We work closely with our suppliers to bring you the best of the seasons and the highest quality produce such as our Cornish free-range 30 dry-aged steaks from family-owned Aubrey Allen.
There are no compromises in our cellar either with some of the world's best wines featuring on our wine list. If wine is not your favourite tipple then why not sample one of our artisan gins made with Fever Tree tonic, perfect for a hot summer's day in our garden!
Whatever the occasion, there is something to please everyone and we look forward to welcoming you.
Build up a healthy appetite before Sunday lunch with a walk through Thames Chase Forest Park or visit one of Upminster’s most prominent landmarks, Upminster Windmill. For something a little bit different and quirky, the historic Upminster Tithe Barn is literally packed to the rafters with paraphernalia and collectables from across the centuries. They hold regular open days and events so you can plan your visit to our pub around them.
